Plant Bio
Dieffenbachia Green Magic is a beautiful plant with distinctive light green spine on the leaves. A plant that will attract attention, therefore, deserves a nice bright spot in your home but do keep it out of the mid-day sun and keep the soil moist. Your lovely tropical Dieffenbachia' will then thrive well. Dieffenbachia — also known as the dumb cane plant — is one of the top ten most popular houseplants out there. It’s easy to care for and has beautiful variegated green and white foliage.
Problems with dieffenbachia plant can be easily overcome in most situations. The most common problem with growing dumbcane dieffenbachia is too much moisture. Overwatering is a common problem with many houseplants and the dieffenbachia houseplant is no exception. Plant the dumbcane in a well-draining soil and water lightly, keeping the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Check the soil to make sure it is dry an inch down before watering the dieffenbachia plant.
Dieffenbachia does well in a semi-sunny to a shady location and does not need much sunlight. The plant will, however, thrive in bright light conditions. Dumbcanes do well when grown under artificial plant lights. Too much sun will burn the leaves, but too much shade on the heavy white/yellow varieties will cause them to be poorly colored. The Dieffenbachia plant does well as a houseplant, thriving with year-round average room temperatures. Dieffenbachias will not tolerate low temperatures. Water your dumb cane thoroughly and allow the soil to thoroughly “approach dryness” between waterings. Plants often need more water during the summer seasons and less during winter time. Too much water (overwatering) may drown the fleshy roots, or cause rank, weak growth, and stems to become mushy.
