Plant Care

Watering

During summer, Water daily or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. During Winter season water once in 2 days or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause brown spots and leaf drop. Curly or dry leaves suggest, the plant is dry and needs watering. Water in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Always check your soil before watering.

Light

During summer season keep the plants in shaded area and during winter season plants can withstand direct/indirect light.

Temperature

During summer season or when the temperature is above 45°C place the plant in shaded area. During winter season or the when the temperature is below 45°C the plants can be directly placed in direct/indirect sunlight.

Fertilizer

Apply liquid fertilizer or slow release fertilizer once in 15 days. Always fertilizer the plants during the morning hours when the temperature is low. For best results use Folikraft ready to use Outdoor Plant Food / Flower Booster.

Plant Bio

Ficus panda, also known as the Chinese bonsai fig, is a unique cultivar of the Ficus microcarpa tree. It is a popular houseplant due to its interesting "cage shape" growth habit, with its thick trunk and aerial roots trained into a braided, basket-like structure. Here are some tips for growing and caring for Ficus panda:

Soil: Ficus panda prefers well-draining soil with good fertility. A mix of peat, perlite, and sand works well.

Sunlight: Ficus panda requires bright, indirect sunlight to thrive. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves and cause leaf drop.

Watering: Ficus panda should be watered regularly to keep the soil consistently moist. However, avoid overwatering or allowing the plant to sit in water, as this can cause root rot.

Humidity: Ficus panda thrives in high humidity, so it's a good idea to mist the leaves regularly or place a humidifier nearby.

Fertilizer: Ficus panda benefits from regular fertilization with a balanced fertilizer. Apply the fertilizer every two to three months during the growing season.

Pruning: Prune Ficus panda regularly to promote healthy growth and maintain its shape. Remove any dead or diseased branches, as well as any branches that are crossing or rubbing against each other.

Propagation: Ficus panda can be propagated from stem cuttings or by air layering. Take stem cuttings in the spring or summer and root them in a well-draining rooting medium.

Overall, Ficus panda is a fascinating and visually striking plant that can be a great addition to any indoor space. With proper care, it can thrive and maintain its unique shape for many years.
