The easiest way to propagate a royal poinciana tree is by planting seeds rather than attempting to grow it from a cutting. Best of all, you don’t have to be a master gardener to have success germinating the seeds, which will eventually grow into this flashy tree.

Soak the seeds in a container of warm water for a day or two before planting. The University of Arizona suggests scarifying, or scratching or cutting, the seeds to speed up germination, as doing so allows water to enter the hard outer seed shell to stimulate the germination process.
