Water once a week or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause brown spots and leaf drop. Curly or dry leaves suggest, the plant is dry and needs watering. Water in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Always check your soil before watering.

Plant Bio
Dieffenbachia has an upright, bushy growth form. Dieffenbachia is an attractive plant with large leaves and it is fairly easy to keep and grow. Dieffenbachia Camille and Dieffenbachia Tropic Snow are two types most commonly used as indoor potted plants. Dieffenbachia is one of the easiest indoor houseplants to grow -- and one of the most common indoor plants. This tropical shrub shows off lush leaves that are usually marked in shades of cream, yellow, or white, making dieffenbachia a top pick for brightening dim corners indoors. Dieffenbachia adds fun color and texture without flowers. These plants are popular in homes and offices for their colorful, large leaves. They have large, white-variegated leaves carried on upright stems brighten this rather soft plant.
All parts of a dieffenbachia are extremely poisonous which is how they earned the nickname “dumb cane plant”and should be kept away from pets and children.
Dieffenbachia plants require medium to high light. Direct sun burns the leaves and too much bright light causes the vibrant leaf color to fade. Water well and then allow the top 2"-3" of soil to dry out before watering again. Dieffenbachia plants do best when watered on a regular schedule. If the soil gets too dry, bottom leaves may turn yellow. If the plant is over watered, stems rot and get mushy and bottom leaves die. The best soil for a dieffenbachia is a rich organic mixture that drains quickly.
