Plant Care

Watering

During summer, Water daily or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. During Winter season water once in 2 days or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause brown spots and leaf drop. Curly or dry leaves suggest, the plant is dry and needs watering. Water in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Always check your soil before watering.

Light

During summer season keep the plants in shaded area and during winter season plants can withstand direct/indirect light.

Temperature

During summer season or when the temperature is above 45°C place the plant in shaded area. During winter season or the when the temperature is below 45°C the plants can be directly placed in direct/indirect sunlight.

Fertilizer

Apply liquid fertilizer or slow release fertilizer once in 15 days. Always fertilizer the plants during the morning hours when the temperature is low. For best results use Folikraft ready to use Outdoor Plant Food / Flower Booster.

Plant Bio

The Seagrape Tree (Coccoloba uvifera) is a stunning tropical evergreen that thrives beautifully in UAE gardens. Known for its broad, round, leathery leaves and clusters of grape-like fruits, this tree adds both elegance and function to outdoor landscapes. Native to coastal regions, the Seagrape is salt-tolerant, making it an excellent choice for seaside villas or gardens exposed to dry, warm winds.

This hardy tree grows into a dense, spreading canopy that provides excellent shade, making it perfect for patios, poolside areas, and garden seating spaces. The attractive fruits it produces are edible and can be used to make jams or enjoyed fresh. Its lush foliage and unique growth habit also make it a sought-after ornamental tree in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

For best results, plant the Seagrape in well-draining sandy soil and full sun. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and requires minimal maintenance. Pruning helps maintain its shape as a hedge, screen, or small shade tree. Pair it with other tropical plants such as palms, hibiscus, or bougainvillea for a vibrant coastal landscape.

Care Tips: Water moderately until roots establish, then reduce frequency. Fertilize seasonally for healthy growth and prune to encourage dense branching.
