Indirect sunlight, 6 to 8 hours
Maintain temperatures between 18°C - 24°C. Avoid draughts as these can create undesirable temperature fluctuations. Consider giving your plant an occasional misting twice every week to maintain the optimum humidity level.
Provide fertilizer once the first true leaves emerge. The first set of leaves that appear are known as the seed leaves. The second set of leaves are the first ‘true leaves,’ and a sign that your plant is getting mature and ready for serious growth. Dilute a balanced fertilizer to ¼ the strength recommended. Fertilize once in 2 weeks.
Product Bio
Red bell pepper seeds can be sown indoors about 8-10 weeks before the last expected frost in your area. Here's a general description and guidelines for growing and caring for red bell pepper seeds:
Description: Red bell peppers are a type of sweet pepper that are known for their mild flavor and bright red color. They are a warm-season vegetable that requires a long growing season to produce fruit.
Sowing & Germination Care:
1. Start seeds indoors in seed trays or small pots filled with a seed-starting mix. Sow the seeds about 1/4 inch deep and water them well.
2. Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. The seeds should germinate in 7-14 days at a temperature of 70-85°F (21-29°C).
3. Once the seedlings emerge, they should be kept in a warm and bright location, but out of direct sunlight. You can use a grow light if necessary.
4. When the seedlings have at least two sets of true leaves and the danger of frost has passed, they can be transplanted outdoors.
Growing Conditions:
1. Red bell peppers prefer a well-drained soil with a pH between 6.0 and 6.8.
2. They require a warm soil temperature of at least 60-65°F (15-18°C) to grow well.
3. Red bell peppers require a lot of sunlight, so they should be planted in a location that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
4. They are a heavy feeder, so they will benefit from regular fertilization with a balanced vegetable fertilizer.
5. Water the plants regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Avoid getting water on the leaves to prevent disease.
