Tip 1: Not too dark
Bamboo Palms are considered low-light palms, but that doesn’t mean “no-light”. They prefer bright, filtered light, but will adjust quite well to low light areas.
Tip 2: Just the right amount of water
Your Bamboo Palm prefers to be watered thoroughly and then allowed to dry a bit. Do not overwater it! In the winter months, water less frequently. Brown leaf tips often indicate overwatering, while yellow fronds tell you the plant needs a bit more water.
Tip 3: Lots of humidity
Your Bamboo Palm will appreciate extra humidity, especially in the winter. Mist 3-4 times a week, this will also discourage spider mites from attacking your plant since the misting helps keep the plant free of dust.
Tip 4: Give it a hair cut
Remove only the brown or yellow leaves as soon as they appear with a pair of sharp scissors. This keeps your plant looking healthy and allows it to spend its energy on new growth.
